Van Gaal believes one of these three things can save his season at United

The Manchester United manager is still hoping for some late redemption this season.

United have endured a frustrating season so far, with the team out of the title race and also losing grounds massively in the race to make the top four.

United are also on the verge of getting knocked out of the Europa League, after a below par performance at Anfield that led to a 2-0 Liverpool victory in the first leg.

This is after the team had been knocked out of the Champions League disappointingly in a fairly easy group.

However Van Gaal thinks United making the top four or winning either of the FA Cup or UEFA cup would spare his blushes.

He said: (Via Sunday Star)

"But I am still in three competitions and a lot of colleagues cannot say that.

“Can the FA Cup save my season? The Europa League can also save my season and a position in the first four can also save my season.

“It is still possible. It is very difficult – I know that. But it is still possible.”

United fans are anxiously waiting for any of the three to happen. United host West Ham in the FA Cup on Sunday, which is United's most viable chance of winning a silverware this season.
