The young versatile defender has been one of the revelations of the season for United.
The Dutchman has been deployed by Van Gaal in at least three different positions this season. He has played as a left back, right back and centre back.
The player that once played the number 10 role for United's U-21 has highlighted his favorites positions on the pitch, while admitting he is opened to the idea of playing anywhere for the team.
"It’s a difficult question!" He said on his favorite position.
"I think I’ll just be keeping my options open. Centre-back or midfield, I think that is the most chance. However, as I’ve said before, wherever the manager wants me, I will play there." He told the Manchester United official website.
"Warren Joyce helped me very much, particularly in the aspects I was not so good at. He helped me on it and tried to make me a better player. I’m happy he has been able to do that. I played No.10 in pre-season and scored a goal from there as well so I was very happy." He added.
