The Manchester United youngster has played almist every game since making his debut in February against FC Midtjylland in the Europa league.
He has played twelve games scoring seven goals in the process.
Van Gaal claimed he almost rested the player for the Villa clash. The striker however ended up scoring the winner in the game, and Van Gaal brought him of late on in the game.
There have been concern about fatigue setting in for the young striker, but Van Gaal is also aware and has confirmed that the player didn't train with the team for two days after the Villa match.
In his press conference ahead of the Palace match , Van Gaal said:
"I have changed him after 70 minutes, I believe, and that is also to give him a little bit of rest.
"He didn’t train the day after and also the day after that he didn’t train. I want to keep him fresh because he is in the momentum of scoring and that is very important for him but also for the team."
With United heading into a series of must win matches starting from the Villa clash, United need a fresh and fatigue free Rashford for optimum performance.
