Van Gaal : Rashford is not ready for United's first team

The Manchester United manager has said a number of the United academy products that have played for United this season including Rashford are not ready for Manchester United's first team.

The Dutchman has handed debuts to 14 United youngsters since taking over at United two seasons ago, with a number of the youngsters highly impressive.

Rashford in particular have stood out, with the striker scoring seven goals in his first thirteen games for the team.

However when asked if the academy bosses deserved praises for making the players ready for the first team, Van Gaal replied (via M.E.N)

"They are not ready, I'm sorry, also Marcus Rashford is not ready.

"He knows that, he can learn a lot, you need always guts to put youngsters in the squad
and also in the line-up, but of course the academy and all the academy coaches have
the credits for these players, also the scouts who have discovered these boys, they have credits, and I am a little part of it but that part is important because you need the guts to do that."
