Can Mourinho bring this star striker to United after texing him?

The former Chelsea manager is the favorite to replace Van Gaal in the summer. In line with various reports, the Portuguese has already started scouting for players he would want to bring to United.

One of the Key men on Mourinho's rader is Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski.

The striker has been a long term target for United and top European teams like Real Madrid.

According to Daily Star, Mourinho texted the player back after scoring four goals against his Real Madrid side in 2013. And the content of the message read thus:

"I want you to join me in any club I go to,"

The player himself acknowledged the message, saying it is an honour for a manager of Mourinho's caliber texting him.

It remains to be seen if Mourinho would try signing the Poland striker, if he as widely expected take over as United boss.

United will have to pay a transfer fee in the region of £70m for the striker who has also attracted interest from the likes of Liverpool,  Man City and Chelsea.
