Paris Saint-Germain have approached Jose Mourinho to be their next manager after their Champions League exit according to Sky Sports.
The former Chelsea manager has been out football since 2015, and is the favorite to take over from Van Gaal in the, but may end up in Paris in the summer.
There have been various reports of a deal between United and the Portuguese, though Mourinho himself came out few weeks ago denying contract talks with any club. While United on their part have kept mute.
United may however lose the Portuguese for the second time, with report that PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made contact with Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes, after the City knocked them out of Europe.
The PSG hierarchy are unhappy with the team's continued failure in Europe, as see Mourinho as the man that can bring success on the European front.
Mourinho and PSG chairman Al-Khelaifi are friends, as the chairman has tried on two occasions to lure the Portuguese to Paris all to no avail.
But with United appearing undecided as to whether to appoint Mourinho or not, PSG will provide another perfect platform for the former Inter boss to showcase himself in Europe.
