Manchester United aiming to buy Barcelona star amid financial issues at Barcelona

Manchester United will be  hoping they can take maximum advantage of Barcelona stringent financial conditions to lure Brazilian star Neymar to Old Trafford.

According to the Sun, Barcelona maybe considering the possibility of selling the forward because they cannot afford an improved long term contract for the player.

Neymar currently earns £77,000 a week and Manchester United can afford to increase his pay to £300,000 per week if he decides to make a switch, a salary his current team can't afford.

Barca are willing to offer the player a new deal, and know they must increase his pay, something they can't do now as it will affect their finances negatively.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague said in a Q&A session with fans:

"..... And without an sponsor they cannot realistically afford the renewal of Neymar, plus the consequent ones of Messi and then Luis Suarez.

"Is the club trying to put Neymar for sale? Not fully, but they are preparing the way in case they have to. The player’s side has got a clear timing. His contract will be renewed, they say, at some point this year.

“But the club is scared that might take the debt to new highs. He has flirted with the Premier League, but he wants to stay."

This will definitely put clubs like United at alert. The player's camp once opened up that United made a serious offer for the player last summer, with the Old Trafford giants ready to meet his buyout clause.

The summer maybe another good time for United to try getting the player.
