United were unconvincing throughout the game, but De Gea think the players were somehow tired.
United played West Ham in the FA Cup replay during the week. United secured a vital win that set them on the road to Wembley to face Everton.
And it may be understanding if De Gea said the players were tired. Speaking after the game, he said:
"I think in the end of the game the team was a bit tired but sometimes you have to win the games like we did today.
"To keep a clean sheet is good for us again with our confidence."
United have kept a league high 15 clean sheets this season, with the Spaniard playing a vital role in United's defensive success so far.
