Real Madrid give up on De Gea pursuit - Report

Real Madrid will not will not be  pushing for a De Gea transfer this summer.

The capital club were close to landing the United shot stopper late last summer, but reports blamed the breakdown on a fax machine, minutes into the end of the transfer window.

De Gea has since made a U-turn, signed a new deal with United, and has welcome new manager José Mourinho.

The possibility of Madrid coming back for the player was always there, but that seems to have been quashed by Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane who is satisfied with current keeper Kiko Casilla.

According to Marca, Zidane has convinced Florentino Perez, about sticking with current keeper Navas. And the club hierarchy have told De Gea's agent Jorge Mendes that the club won't be seeking for a transfer this summer.

This will come as a huge relief to United fans. De Gea has been one of United's top performer in the last three season, where he's win the club player of the year, and losing him at the start of the Mourinho era would be a huge loss.
