Van Gaal warns the media about Rashford: ' Leave him in peace'

Van Gaal doesn't want the media to beam their searchlight and cameras too much on the youngster, despite believing the player has the personality to deal with his new found stardom.

The teenager has only started two games for the first team, but has scored four important goals in key matches. His firstly brace against  Midtjylland in  the Europa League aided United's qualification into the round of 16, and his second brace against the Gunners in three days helped restore United's confidence in the league and superiority over  Arsene Wenger's side.

Speaking ahead of the match with Watford, he said (Via manutd.com)

"First, I think that the media have to leave him in peace.

"When you are in front of his house and that kind of stuff, I don’t think that is beneficial for a boy of 18 years old years old, and we shall guide him also in that way.

But he is a very modest guy, so I don’t think that shall be a problem. Of course, when you have so much attention from the media, it can go in another way.

"I believe he shall keep his feet on the ground."

The player is in line to start his third game for United against Watford, but with Martial also almost ready for a start, Van Gaal will have some selection headache picking on of the two good young players.

Who would you want to see start upfront for United tonight?

Martial or Rashford...
