Manchester United ranked most valuable football team in the world

Manchester United have been ranked and estimated as the most valuable football club in the world. This according to a survey carried out by  brand valuation company Brand  Finance.

United ranked higher than Real Madrid in second, Barcelona, Manchester City and Bayern Munich in that order making the top five.

United endured a frustrating last season, where the team finished fifith, and won't be competing in the Champions League next season. The team however ended the title draught of the post Sir Alex Ferguson era, with the FA Cup, but that wasn't enough to keep Van Gaal.

United may not be performing well on the pitch, but on the business side, vice chairman Ed. Woodward has done a fantastic job.

United have signed a couple of endorsement deals over the last twelve twelve months and the new the deal with sportswear giant Adidas that kicked off last season is worth £750 for the next ten years. It was a record breaking deal though Real Madrid have agreed a new deal with adidas that surpasses the United deal by 40%.

United also enjoyed massive windfall from T.V rights and impressive forecast of revenue increase over the next few seasons helped United in the ranking.

Overall, six Premier League teams, two Spanish, one German ams one French featured in the top ten.
