The former United midfielder thinks his former team deserved to lose the game.
A lot was expected from United, coming from the 2-1 loss to Sunderland over the weekend.
With De Gea late injury, United knew the night could turn out anyhow. However Romero came in and put in a man of the match performance between the bar, but his fellow players must have let him down.
Owen Hargreaves working as BT Sports pundit for the game said:
“Midtjylland wanted to win this game and I think they saw that Manchester United were there for the taking.That’s the biggest surprise.
"Midtjylland deserved to win this game, no question.
“They were positive and created chances from open play and had double the shots on target than Manchester United in this game and I think, sadly to say, right now this (the loss) is not a surprise.”
United's next match is a Monday’s FA Cup clash with Shrewsbury Town.
