Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp claims the deal that will being the Portuguese tactician to United is signed, sealed and delivered.
His claims he said is based on information he received from insiders.
Current United manager Van Gaal has face a lot of criticism this season for a lot of reasons.
Most importantly, United are almost out of the running to make the top four, and winning the Europa League looks a tall order based on the team's current form and all round performance this season.
He has been 'media sacked' more than once this season. His team's recent defeat to Sunderland showed again that United can't maintain a strong momentum for a long time.
José Mourinho is undoubtedly the most worthy man to take over from Van Gaal anytime his relationship with United hit its final stop.
Speaking to US radio station Sirius XM, Redknapp said:
"It hasn't worked out at all for Louis van Gaal at Manchester United. It's been a disaster for him. No doubt about that.
"From the people I know who are in the know, it seems Jose Mourinho to United is a done deal."
This is a news a lot of United fans will welcome.
