The Manchester United midfielder has been handed a three match suspension following his physical tussle with West Ham defender Reid.
Refree Mark Clanterburg did not see the incident when it occurred but camera replays showed Schweinsteiger pushing the defender.
An independent F.A team has looked at the incident and charged the German. He accepted the charge, been handed a three match ban with immediate effect.
He will miss the games against Bournemouth (A), Norwich (H) and Stoke (A).
