Manchester United 1 - 2 Norwich: Post match manager and players reactions

Manchester United slumped to their third defeat in a roll, with the home loss to Norwich City.

It is the first win for Norwich against Manchester United at Old Trafford since 1989, and on a weekend when two of the world most sought after manager were strongly linked with a move to United. Van Gaal and his boys did nothing to help secure or stabilize his future for a little longer.

Here are some quotes from the United manager.

The Dutchman knows that it is beyond his powers to decide if  he stays or not.

When asked whether he will be allowed to come through present problem,  he answered
"[It] Is not for me to say about that question. We shall see."

Do you still have the backing of the board?

LvG: "I think so but you never know in this world."

"This is a difficult period. We have lost three matches in a row. We cannot accept that."

LvG: "It is important everyone sticks together. It was not good enough today, we have to beat Norwich, we know that."

But the Dutchman has called for the togetherness of the players, staff and fans.

"It is important that we stick together, players, staff and the fans."

Midfielder Juan Mata is already looking foward to the next game against Stoke City, though he believes losing at home is more frustrating.

“It’s very frustrating not to win, especially at home. We should win here if we want to be successful, but we haven’t done it."

"It's another very difficult day for us, but the only thing we can do now is stick together and hope that we get the win vs Stoke."

The Spaniard also feels the team should do more for the fans

"We feel deeply sorry for the fans, I think they’re incredible, so we have to do better for them."

Defender Blind feels the fans are still behind the team.

"We still feel the faith of our fans, even when we were behind today they still gave us their backing."
