Dutch Legend: Van Gaal needs more time, crazy to criticise him that much now

Former Arsenal player Marc Overmars has labeled the criticism of fellow Dutchman 'crazy' and believes Van Gaal needs more time.

The United gaffer has come under intense criticism from the fans and media because of his footballing philosophy and the results he team is getting.

But Overmars who played under Van Gaal at Barcelona, has com out to support his former boss, and has urged fans to exercise some patience.

"It's crazy to criticise him so much already, "In football you need patience. They are building a new team. Yes, they have spent a lot of money, but leave him to do his job."

Overmars believes Van Gaal will survive and build a strong team because Van Gaal has been in similar situations before.

"He has had difficult times before in his career, but always comes through. He will survive and build a very strong team."
