Sky Sports's Charlie Nicholas is tipping Liverpool to get a vital first leg win over United when both sides face on Thursday.
Charlie tools both teams contrasting weekend fortune into consideration, before arriving at his final prediction. United's couldn't maintain their momentum as they were defeated by West Brom, after been reduced to ten men. Liverpool over the weekend were also reduced to ten men, but still went ahead to win their game against Crystal Palace.
Charlie wrote in his column on Sky Sports:
" It's very difficult to know what's going to happen in this meeting between old rivals Liverpool and Manchester United.
"Most will be expecting Daniel Sturridge to come back in, but you never know what condition he's in.
Christian Benteke should be the one banging on Jurgen Klopp's door demanding the chance to play against thisUnited defence.
He's just scored a big goal which could be the corner turned. The way he took that penalty tells me he's up to the challenge of proving he can still make a big contribution.
Charlie is predicting a 2-0 Liverpool victory, with Benteke to score the first goal.
