Confirmed: Manchester United target given permission to leave current club

Barcelona will not stand in the way of defender, Marc Bartra if he wants to leave. According to the club's technical secretary.

The player has had limited starts and appearances for the first team, and is reportedly looking at leaving the club in search of more playing time.

Technical Robert Fernandez was quoted as saying ( via the Sun)

“We have many good players and it is difficult to compete in a team like Barcelona.

“For us anyway, Bartra is a major player. He will always be in our plans and future ideas.

“He was born and raised in our home, but his personal situation could lead to a separation from the club.”

Manchester United, Tottenham and other  clubs have been linked with the player. And with United needing a constant, natural partner for Chris Smalling at centre back, the Barcelona man may be a good choice.
