The Manchester United gaffer has hinted that the club may sign another striker this January.
United have struggled for goals this season, as the team only scored only four goals in six games last December.
Van Gaal has already spent over £250m since his arrival at United 18 months ago and he may be getting ready to add to that.
While admitting that the goal problem could be solved in training, he is also opened to the idea of a new striker, though he knows United need luck in signing a striker that would solve the teams goal scoring problem.
“It can be solved with money but also on the training pitch. Scoring goals is a quality.
“We have that quality but, at this moment, there’s a lack of confidence at the right time.
“Or maybe we need to buy another striker.”
United have been linked to a number of strikers such as Southampton's Sadio Mane, Tottenham's Harry Kane and a host of others.
