Van Gaal: De Gea wasn't marvelous against Liverpool

The Manchester United boss has made what will go down as a controversial statement about the performance of his goalkeeper.

The Spaniard made some vital saves during the game, especially a double save midway the game. But speaking after the match, Van Gaal said:

"I don't believe De Gea has done very much. 2 or 3 balls he has to stop and the goalkeeper has to do that. He wasn't marvellous."

This may not go down well with the goalkeeper and some sections of the United fans.
