The former Liverpool striker has tipped United to defeat Southampton when both sides meet in the Premier League on Saturday.
Manchester United struggled to a 1-0 victory over rival Liverpool in their last match, and would be aiming to get back to back victory.
United have struggled for consistency this season, and are two points behind fourth place Tottenham.
United are also seven points behind leaders Arsenal, and with the Gunners facing defending champion Chelsea, United can close the gap at the top of the table.

The win (over Liverpool) will have given both the manager and skipper a massive lift with Wayne Rooney’s late winner keeping Louis Van Gaal’s side within touching distance of Manchester City and Arsenal in the PL Title race.
Rooney looks rejuvenated in 2016 and has now scored five goals in his last four games since netting United’s winner in the 2-1 defeat of Swansea at Old Trafford. Despite receiving plenty of criticism Rooney now has 15 goals from 31 games for club and country in all competitions this season and can fire United to victory against the Saints.
