Fellaini reveals why United lost to Liverpool in Europa League

The Belgian midfielder has revealed that the players didn't follow Van Gaal's game plan to the letter, hence the Anfield defeat.

United were outclassed and outplayed on the night and the Fellaini says the team didn't press enough.

United fell to an early goal, after Depay had fouled Clyne at the edge of the box.  The midfielder says United improved in the second but the team conceded another goal late on.

“We didn’t press well in the first half. I think the second half was much better and we had more possession of the ball. He said via Mirror.

"In the first half we didn’t show enough respect to the game plan of the manager. That’s why we conceded a lot of chances.

“The plan before the game was to press from the start. We didn’t do it well at all first half so we changed in the second half and it was
better.”

United face West Ham in a crucial must win FA Cup match, before hosting Liverpool next Thursday.
