The Manchester United manager has confirmed that Wayne Rooney is not clos to his return.
There's been speculation that his return could be delayed for about a month, but Van Gaal has no specific date for his striker's return.
“Wayne still has weeks to go. He is not even close.
“I cannot say how many weeks, as you never know. Van Gaal told Mirror.
“It is a conservative healing process, not like an operation, so you will have to wait and see." He added.
In Rooney's continued absence, United will keep on relying on Martial and Rashford for the goals. One more reason why Van Gaal shouldn't have sold the likes of Javier Hernandez and Robin Van Persie.
