United made a 30 million euro bid for Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan according to Al Ahli manager.
Al Ahli based in Dubai made a 35 million euro for the winger last summer, club manager Cosmin Olaroiu has revealed.
"We tabled a 35 million euros for Gaitan, which was above the 30 million euros offered by Manchester United.
"We agreed the deal with Benfica, but the player turned the deal down." Olaroiu told GSP (via Metro).
United have been known to be keen admirers of the Argentine and another move in the summer will depend on who manages United in the summer.
