Manchester United closing in on star striker irrespective of Van Gaal's future

Manchester United are reportedly pursuing a £60m deal for Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang irrespective of who coaches United next season. According to Independent.

Van Gaal is under intense pressure, and the next one week may decide his fate at Old Trafford.

José Mourinho is the fans favorite to take over, but United are not relenting in their pursuit of the star.

Aubameyang 26, with 31 goals in 34 matches is definitely a top target for top European teams, and United are looking at the possibility of striking a deal early enough.

United had also deals for Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera before Van Gaal arrived though he still sanctioned both deals.

The striker would fit into the class of a marque signing that Vice chairman Ed. Woodward loves.
