Exclusive: Van Gaal has only three matches to save his United job

Results of Manchester United's next three games would determine Van Gaal's fate at Old Trafford this season according to Manchester Evening News.

United play three crucial games within the next seven days, and any unwanted result from these games may signify the end of Van Gaal's tenure at United.

United travel to Shrewsbury in the F.A cup on Monday, before hosting Midtjylland on Thursday followed by a huge Premier League game against rivals Arsenal on Sunday.

The F.A cup remains United's most viable chance of wining a silverware this season, therefore United cannot afford to lose to Shrewsbury. Even a draw which would warrant a replay at Old Trafford would still be seen as a disaster for United.

United trail Midtjylland 2-1 from the first leg of their Europa League match, and would be expected to overturn the one goal deficit at Old Trafford.

Next Sunday, United host Arsenal, in a must win match for both sides. A victory for United will once again  brighten the hopes of United making the top four.
