David Moyes and Rio Ferdinand disagree on Van Gaal

Both men have different views on Van Gaal and his future at United.

United have lost their last two games, currently out of Champions League qualification spot and manager Van Gaal is facing the sack.

Fans and a lot of pundits want the Dutchman out of Old Trafford, but one man thinks the United board should exercise some more patience with Van Gaal.

David Moyes was sacked less than a year during his tenure at United, but the Scotsman thinks United should not turn to a sacking club by sacking Van Gaal.

"I don't think Manchester United should become a sacking club. I was disappointed when I lost my job after 10 months, but we would think Manchester United have always stood for much greater things than sacking their managers regularly. So, I don't think they should. (Sack him). He told the BBC.

However former United defender Rio Ferdinand thinks Van Gaal's time is up at United. He thinks United have given Van Gaal enough time, and that the team has been retrogressive under the Dutchman.

The defender sums up his thought in this tweet:

"Given LVG loads of time...the team have gone backwards since his arrival. The style of football has no resemblence to @manutd at all.

The next seven days will mean a lot at United. United face Shrewsbury on Monday night before hosting Midtjylland in the return leg of the Europa League round of 32 where United must overturn a 2-1 defeat. On Sunday, United welcome Arsenal to the theatre of dreams.

The outcomes of these games would determine to a large extent, the future of Van Gaal at United this season.
