Michael Carrick: We caused our problems against Midtjylland and should have won

The Manchester United captain for the night has admitted that United were not just good enough on the night.

The team put on another abysmal performance following the 2-1 loss to Sunderland over the weekend.

This defeat is made worse as Midtjylland had not played competitive football in over two months.

Speaking after the game, Carrick said:

"It just is not good enough. It is not acceptable. It is nowhere near good enough. It has to be a lot better.

"We caused a lot of our own
problems. We just have not played well enough.

"We should have won the game, but we will go home very disappointed. We have another chance to put it right."

The defeat further increases the pressure on manager Van Gaal, as his United have now lost two games in a roll. It is not just losing the matches, but the manner in which Unites is losing, and the caliber of opposition.
