Manchester United are set to offer young left back Borthwick-Jackson a new deal according to Manchester Evening News.
The Englishman broke into the United first team this season by injuries to regulars such as Luke Shaw, Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo.
He has since been impressive, even against opposition like Chelsea and Liverpool. His composure, positioning, calmness and crossing have been highly commendable.
United are ready to offer him a longer contract while increasing his take home package. Speaking on the new deal, manager Van Gaal said:
"We are dealing with that of course but you have to wait for an announcement from the club."
