Van Gaal blames injuries for Midtjylland defeat

His United side produced yet another awful showing against a Midtjylland side that have not played competitive football in two months - losing 2-1 to the Danish side.

United created nothing going forward, lacked leadership, control, composure and cohesion for the entire game.
Speaking after the game, the Dutchman said:

"Things are happening in the heads of the players. We could have scored more but then it's too much.

"That's what happens when you play with a different team and different players every week.

United injury woes have gotten worse after goalkeeper De Gea injured his knee in the pre-match warm up.

He is due for a scan. Hopefully the Spaniard won't be out for a long time. He increases the number of injured United players to thirteen (13).
