Three reasons Guardiola may choose Manchester City over United

The battle for the signature of Pep Guardiola seems to be getting tougher. The Spaniard has confirmed that he would be leaving Germany for England.

Manchester is his most destination, but the debate and guess as to which side of Manchester it will will continue to linger until an official statement is released as to his destination.

Redlyunited looks at three reasons Pep may prefer the blue side of Manchester to the red

1. The state of both teams:

it is no doubt that both teams are wide apart currently based on quality and results. Since the retirement of Sir Alex, United have suffered a sharp decline in form and consistency.

United have lost the fear factor, attacking swag, and the spirit of a Champion.

City looks a more formidable team, and Pep will be thinking with just a little input and change, they should become the team that can conquer Europe. Unlike United that seem to need a lot of work, transfer activity and  tactical input.

They've got the players, a lot who are at the prime of their glowing career, and the team only needs a playing pattern or identity.

2. He's got friends already at City:

Ferran Soriano (City chief
executive officer) and Txiki Begiristain (City director of football) are Pep Guardiola's old friends. This may go a long way in tilting his move towards City. These two top City officials will guarantee him whatever he wants and convince him a lot.

3.Pep may want to build an empire where non has ever existed:

Going to City means Guardiola can become the first person to do a lot of things at his new club. He can become the first City coach to win the Champions League, the first City coach to win the Premier League back to back, and also set a lot of new records.

At United, he may have to struggle with the shadows of Sir Alex Ferguson, who has won it all as far as club football is concerned. At United his playing pattern will be compared to that of the Scott, which is one major thing affecting current United manager Van Gaal. He will have to win over a lot of past United players, a lot of whom can be extremely critical. But at City, he may have less people to convince, he'll be like the new Messiah, unlike at United where they've once had a Messiah.

Do you think Guardiola will chose United over City?
