Manchester United U-21 team defeated Norwich 7-0 with manager Van Gaal watching.
Will Keane was the star of the night as the young striker scored five goals. Memphis Depay also grabbed a hat trick of assists.
The only negative on the night was the injury to Adnan Januzaj and defender Guillermo Varela.
The Belgian returned from Dortmund early this year, but has made only one appearance for the senior team.
He pulled up an hamstring and was substituted after the half hour mark.
The nature of Varela's injury is not clear but he was also substituted minutes after Januzaj was changed.
