Borthwick-Jackson rise to fame at Old Trafford has been inspiring.
After making his debut this season, the young defender has improved immensely, and competed favorably with some of the best attackers in the league.
Against Chelsea, the defender put in another impressive performance. He played a key role in the United goal and stood his ground against the more experienced Chelsea attackers.
It was a performance Van Gaal was proud of.
He though had a hand in the Chelsea goal as he played Costa onside for the equaliser late on.
The Dutchman speaking on Borthwick-Jackson performance said:
"It was such a pity because Borthwick-Jackson was playing fantastically and I was very proud of him. It was a superb performance until the last quarter. It’s sad for the fans also.
