The 2016 January transfer window is hours from closing. Manchester United have not engage in any top confirmed deal, through rumors of some late moves have been flying around.
Redlyunited looks at the three most possible moves in and out of Old Trafford that could still happen today.
1. Nick Powell's loan to Hull City:
The midfielder has returned to full physical fitness, but for now cannot break into the first team. He's made a number of appearances for the U-21side and a loan move away from Old Trafford would do him a world of good. Hull manager Steve Bruce has confirmed his love for the player, making a deal possible.
2. Renato Sanches to United:
There have been strong rumours that United are currently in advanced talks with Benfica for the 18 year old. The youngster broke into the Benfica first team this season, and has attracted interested from a number of top European teams. The player is reported to have a buyout clause of £60m but Portuguese media outlet O Jogo via Daily Star is reporting that United could strike a deal for £30.4m.
3. Ahmed Musa to United :
Manchester United and Leicester City have both been linked with the Nigerian forward. The Independent is reporting that United could offer £20m for the player. Musa fits into Van Gaal's policy of being a multi-positional player. He is a natural winger - could play on both wings and could play as a striker.
4. Odion Ighalo to Manchester United:
The Watford striker that has been constantly linked with United this January. And with few hours to the close of the window, Metro is reporting that United are making a last ditch to sign the striker.
5. Any wing back to United:
With the current injury crises rocking United wingbacks, this seems the most logical move for United to make. Varela and Borthwick-Jackson have been great substitutes but injury to any of the two will leave United bare in those positions.
And guess what, Van Gaal is a master at making such late deals happen.... Remember Martial.
