Manchester United will be hoping to keep their top four hopes alive when they travel to the Etihad later today.
United have been flat recently, and Van Gaal must get his selection right and fire up his player psychologically.
De Gea starts in goal.
Darmian start in right back after Varela's poor showing against Liverpool. Smalling, Blind and Rojo completes the back four.
Carrick and Fellaini started the last Europa ties against Liverpool, and I wouldn't want any of the two to start.
I'll prefer the Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin combination. Schneiderlin dropping deep to cover the back four, while Schweinsteiger would be a little in front, trying to link the defence and attack.
Lingard starts on the right, Mata in his number 10 role, while Rashford start on the left. Awkward? Yes I know, but Martial would be more effective and dangerous attacking the weak centre pairing City would field.
Kompany is out and Otamendi is a doubt.
Martial in the middle would be able to work Mangala and anybody that pairs him.
