Manchester United 3-0 Stoke: Player ratings

David De Gea: 6

Had little or no tough goalkeeping job to do, as the back four in front did a perfect work protecting him.

Matteo Darmian: 6.5

Good to see him back from that injury. Did extremely very well.

Chris Smalling: 7

Another typical marshalling performance from the Englishman. Organized the defence perfectly, and helped in the attack often. Made a decent amount or blocks, competed very well with Peter Crouch.

Daley Blind: 6.5

Silent but effective showing from the Dutchman. Slotting into the defensive holes to make perfect intersection and picking up the right passes.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson: 7.5

He continued his matured performance for the team. Did very well to keep out Jonathan Walters, and used his height well against the Stoke attackers.  Played an important role in the first goal.

Michael Carrick: 7
He provided the calmness and intelligence United had been lacking in the middle of the park for a while. His awareness was great, and engaged in a number of defensive duties.

Maroune Fellaini: 7.5

One of his best and most effective performance for United this season. Did a great job defensively. Put Hus height to maximum use, in blocking a lot of area balls.

Jesse Lingard: 8

His willingness to get into that position for the first goal was highly commendable. Much more improved showing compares to his last two or three games.

Juan Mata: 8
Highly effective in the final third, moved the ball around well and played an important role in the third goal.

Anthony Martial: 9
Undoubtedly United's man of the match. One goal, one assist, lots of runs and dribbles, what more can you ask for. He is fastly adapting to his new role as a left winger.

Wayne Rooney: 8
Seven goals in his last seven, brilliant all through.

Subs

Memphis Depay: 6

Didn't have much to do, when he came on, the game had been effectively won.

Ander Herrera: 5

Came in too late to do much.

Andreas Pereira: Not Rated.
