Manchester United submit new bid for Dortmund star

Manchester United have submitted an improved bid of £28m for Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

United have been linked with the player who through his agent has said he is interested in a move to Manchester United.

The player has one year left on his current Dortmund deal, but the club is not prepared to let the midfielder leave.

United reportedly made a bid of £18m for the player which was turned down, and the club have reportedly returned with an improved bid in the region of £28m for the 27 year old.

Dortmund are believed to be demanding for £30m for the player.

United and Dortmund are reportedly £3m apart in their negotiations and United believe they would reach an agreement soon.

Mourinho has kicked of his transfer plans with the signing of Ivory Coast Eric Bailly and United are expected to confirm the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the European Championship.

The 34 year old has announced his immediate retirement from international football, and confirmed that Sweden's last match at the Euro's would be his last.

This would come as a boost for United, as the 34 year old would be available for their preseason tour of the China.
