Manchester United preparing bid for Leicester City star

United are ready to outbid Arsenal in the race to sign Frenchman N’Golo Kante.

The current United midfield is ageing with two of its main players in their thirties.

Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger are approaching the twilight of their career and United are considering replacing them soon.

Real Madrid are believed to be interested in  Ander Herrera which may further reduce the number of players available in United's midfield.

According to the Sun, United think they can get the Frenchman even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson holds the player in high regards and once described him as one of the best performers in the league this season.

The player himself has casted doubt over his Leicester future when he said:

"I will fight for Leicester this season - next season we never know and we will see.

"At this moment I am focused on Leicester. We have to finish well this season but I don’t mind about being linked with the other clubs."

With Michael Carrick contract set to expire in the summer, and United yet to offer him a new deal,  Kante may be a perfect replacement.

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has said that the club may be powerless in stopping the player from leaving the club if they receive a huge bid for the Frenchman.
