Looks like after much agitation from the fans and media, Van Gaal may be changing his mind on Martial's position.
Though nothing is guaranteed for now, at least that the united gaffer could come out an say what a lot of the fans are thinking means there may be an alignment of thoughts.
Over the last few weeks, Van Gaal has been starting Martial from the left side of the attack, a change that has somewhat reduced his effectiveness and goal scoring returns.
The forward has five goals and three assists to his credit. While most of these have come from his play in the centre striking position, Van Gaal claims there are other factors he must consider before lining out his team, and this may have been responsible for Martial's change of position.
But ahead of the Champions league clash with CSKA Moscow, Van Gaal has come out to say he believes it is better for Martial to develop as a striker.
"He(Martial) can play in three
positions in his eyes - left, striker and No.10. "I think his best position is the striker's position but he needs to development himself still. He is very young but I think it is better he develops in the striker's position.” Van Gaal said.

With this united fans will be hoping Van Gaal gives the youngster the time and opportunity to play in the centre and develop into a striker.
