Unconfirmed reports have it that the 34 year old may be out of the team till December.
Another player who sustained injury while on international duty was striker Anthony Martial. The striker suffered a knock in the friendly against England at Wembley, and had to leave the stadium with crutches and bandages on his left leg.
While the full scale of his injury is not yet known, the striker will most likely sit out this weekend league fixture.
There are also concerns about the availability of defender Cris Smalling and midfielder Maroune Fellaini.
