Midfielder Michael Carrick was a late substitute in Spain's 2-0 defeat of England. The Manchester United star was stretched off late into the friendly match.
The United star may have suffered an ankle ligament damage, and is due for scan over the weekend to ascertain the type and level of injury.
"Michael has got a severely twisted ankle which normally means ligament damage". Said England's boss Roy Hodgson.
"We won't know that of course until he's had an X-ray or a scan, but it doesn't look good." He added.
The midfielder left the stadium on crutches, and faces several weeks out.
This will come as a huge blow to United, with Valencia and Shaw already on the injury list at Old Trafford.
