The former United defender played a prank on his followers on twitter when he tweeted that he has been given an appointment with United
Though he didn't state in what capacity, a lot of fans took it that he had been appointed as Van Gaal's successor.

Ferdinand hours later opened up that the tweet was an April fool prank, but added that it is ok to have a dream.
