Manchester United 1-0 Everton: We didn't play well Van Gaal admit

The Manchester United gaffer has admitted that his united team were lucky to have won on the evening.

United had no shot on target in the first half, and only managed two throughout the goal whole game.

Anthony Martial's only goal was however enough to secure United the much needed three points.

It was a victory of necessity, and United got it. Speaking after the game he said:

"We didn't play so well. We didn't create many chances.

"Everton are a very good team, much stronger away than at home, and it was a very tight game. We were the lucky team today."

The victory kept United in the race for the top four, and to Van Gaal, that was all that matters. He has switched attention to next week away game with Tottenham.

"If we lose today, the victory against Manchester City is worthless.

"Now we are still in the race. We have a very important game against Tottenham." He added.
