Van Gaal hints he could still be United's manager next season

Even while admitting that his position will be reviewed at the end of the season, the Dutchman has hinted that he may still be at the helm of affairs at Old Trafford next season.

United have endured an inconsistent season so far, and many fans, ex-players and pundits believe the Dutchman should have been sacked by now.

Van Gal is believed to have the backing of a huge number of the decision makers at Old Trafford. With Sir Alex Ferguson recently campaigning for more patience and time for the Dutchman.

Ed. Woodward have also appeared very reluctant in sacking the Dutchman.

According to the Mirror, Van Gaal is already making plans for the team's preseason.

He has already lined out a number of signing United would want to make in the summer, while expressing his influence on the number of days the team should spend in their tour of China.

Identified potential targets include Everton striker Lukaku, Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick
Aubameyang and Renato Sanches of Benfica.

“I am there for every step that is being made for next season and I decided that we would only go to China for eight days."  Van Gaal opens up on his influence on United's preseason tour.

“I have been there before and I have also played myself in a tournament in Shanghai and we couldn’t train properly because of the air and the humidity.

“We are going only because of commercial purposes.

"As manager of Manchester United, I know that we have to do that.

“But I have also made it that we are going for no more than eight days. After that, we are back again to train."

This clearly shows that the Dutchman stands a chance of remaining at United next season. His quest to stay would be boosted if United make the top four and the team wins the FA Cup.

The Dutchman has always stated his desire to see out his three year contract at Old Trafford, but with United's form and showing this season, it remains to be seen if he would.
