Manchester United have identified Everton powerhouse Ross Barkley as the club's major summer target according to Daily Star.
United have been touted as a possible destination for Barkley's teammate Romelu Lukaku, but United could be preparing a major swoop on the duo.
United are keen to strengthen their midfield with the duo of Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger approaching the end of their active years in football.
And United could offer as much as £45m for the 22 year old Englishman.
Barkley has been in fine form for Everton this season scoring twelve (12) goals and assisting seven (7) goals in thirty six (36) matches this season.
United are also believed to be interested in Everton defender John Stones. But Everton's £50m asking price is way beyond United's valuation of the player.
