Manuel Pellegrini thinks Man United can still win the Premier League

Manuel Pellegrini thinks the top six teams in the current Premier League season can still win the League.

With ten games to go and eleven points separating table toppers Leicester and sixth place West Ham United, Pellegrini thinks with the way teams are dropping points, any of the top six teams can still win it.

"In the whole season all the teams are losing a lot of points. That's why I just said that maybe the team which wins the title this season will have no more than 75 points. I am sure that in the last 10 games all the teams will continue losing points.

He said in his press conference ahead of City's game with Villa. (via ESPN)

"I said before that when you have mathematic option to win the title, a club like Manchester United will always have the option, the same as West Ham, the same as Manchester City and other clubs because we need to play for 30 points more.

United are currently fifth on the table, five points behind Arsenal that have played a game more, and the hopes of securing a top four position is still bright. However agreeing with Pellegrini's  proposition that United can still win the league is far beyond normal faith or belief.

This pundit believes United can still make the top four

Robbie Savage thinks United can capitalize on the current downturn of things at Arsenal and City to make the top four.

United are on a four match winning streak, and having defeated Arsenal in the process, confidence is sky high in the United camp.

With City, Arsenal and Tottenham losing their last matches, United took maximum advantage with a 1-0 win over  Watford.

And since Tottenham and Arsenal will be facing each other this weekend, United can further close the gap on either of the London teams.

Writing in his column for the Mirror, Savage wrote:

'Despite my tipping them to win the title last August , I’m afraid that ship sailed a long time ago for Louis van Gaal.

"But four consecutive wins, powered by exuberant youngsters with no fear of failure, has at least put a different complexion on
Manchester United ’s season.

"I sense the supporters warming a little towards Van Gaal after his comedy fall on the touchline last Sunday.

"And with Arsenal’s season in meltdown, a top-four finish is not beyond them.

if Van Gaal delivers a top-four finish, and wins either the FA Cup or Europa League, would it be such a bad season’s work?"

No Robbie, if he can make the top four and win any of those Cups, United fans will not regard the season as an outright failure, considering the amount of injuries the team has suffered.

Two reasons United must defeat West Brom

Manchester United will be hoping to continue their good form when they travel to the Hawthorns on Sunday.

With four wins in their last four games,  confidence is crawling back into the United camp, and this match is one that will test United's strength, will and desire.

United's three of the four victories have been at Old Trafford and a trip to West Brom is a huge test.

Redlyunited looks at two  reasons United can't afford to drop points this Sunday.

1.  Put pressure on top four:

With two wins in their last two matches, United are now in touching distance with the top four teams.

Three points currently separate United and City, though the Citizens have a game in hand.

Arsenal in third currently lead United with five points, and with the Gunners facing London and title rivals Tottenham this weekend, the point difference between both team maybe reduced to one or two depending on the outcome of their match, but first, United must win.

2. To head into the Europa meeting with Liverpool with confidence:

United travel to Anfied on Thursday for the first leg of their Europa League match. Van Gaal hasn't lost to Liverpool since his arrival in England, and will be hoping he can continue his fine record against the Kops.

Anfield is not a place you go to without much confidence, and a good win against West Brom would be a good catalyst heading into such a match.

Van Gaal against European Super League

Sky Sports pundit predicts West Brom Vs Man United clash: See his final score

Manchester United are on a four match winning run and will be hoping to extend the run, when they face West Brom in Sunday.

With Arsenal and Tottenham facing each other, United can also close the gap on either of the teams above them on the table.

Sky pundit Paul Merson is tipping United to continue their good form. He wrote in his column on Sky Sports:

"Man Utd have turned the corner and sometimes you just need a little bit of luck. I thought they were lucky against Watford, who had a couple of chances and probably two months ago they would have scored and come away with a 2-0 win and everybody would have been booing. But they score in the last five minutes and everybody goes home happy, they are on a roll.

Man City have just opened up the possibility of Champions League qualification for everybody, so instead of Liverpool and Man Utd looking forward to the Europa League on Thursday, these are now bigger football matches. And if you had said that three weeks ago, I would have said: 'No chance.'

"But I am going to for Man Utd 2-1 as I think they are rolling now."

With United level on points with City -  though they have a game in hand, United must keep the pressure on the top four teams.

Paul is predicting a 2-1 United victory, What yours?
