Schneiderlin |
Southampton star midfielder Schneiderlin is “more likely to
leave the club” according to club legend Le Tissier. The midfielder has been
strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in recent times, but over the last few
days, news and rumor of a move to United have surfaced and intensified. Southampton
held on to the midfielder last season, despite the mass exodus of their key
players. But Le Tissier believes the saints may no longer be able to hold on to
their star man. Le Tissier told Sky Sports “it’s probably more likely that he’ll
leave than stay. The big question is whether a top four side meets his
valuation."
The player recently voiced out his intention to play for a
team playing in the Champions League. And with United almost qualifying, it
remains to be seen if the move can happen.
Le Tissier also reckons that a united move would be
beneficial to both the player and United. “Out of those sides, it is Manchester
United that need him most as they require strengthening in that position.
Schneiderlin is the sort of player they should be looking for, having proven
over the last few seasons that he can mix it with the top sides. “
The legend also believes it’s a deal that may not cost
United a fortune, “we paid about £1 million for him back in 2008 so with
a couple of promotions and another decent transfer fee it certainly represents
another good return.
“I think Southampton have always been fair with players and
not stood in their way when bigger clubs have meet their valuation, which was
shown last summer.”
Do you think United should go for and sign Schneiderlin?
