Benzema |
Over the last few days news of the Real Madrid striker
moving to United have intensified, with news that the striker’s agent held a
meeting with United’s executive Vice Chairman Ed Woodward.
But the striker’s agent have dismissed reports that he held
a meeting with any United official, and stated that the French man was happy at
Madrid and will only leave if he’s told he’s surplus to requirement.
"I
haven't met with any club in London. Not with United and not with anyone
else. We haven't held talks with anyone other than Real Madrid. What
is Karim going to do in Manchester? He's happy in Madrid. "He doesn't
want to leave. Benzema would only leave if Real Madrid told him he was
surplus to requirements, because he isn't going to leave of his own accord. Karim wants to see out his contract. He
wants to retire at Real Madrid.’’ He told Marca.
The
Frenchman has been linked to United on a number of occasions, since his stay at
Lyon. The striker scored 22 goals for Madrid last season. He’s been reported
that he may be part of the deal taking David De Gea to Madrid and has also been
linked to Arsenal.
