THREE THINGS UNITED FANS WANT FOR XMAS AND NEW YEAR

Christmas is in the air, and there will be a lot of exchange of gifts and pleasant surprises. One of the ways to exchange happiness and make a lot of people happy this season is for football teams in England to win their matches this period of the year. In this yuletide season, the matches come and go very fast, with the tight schedule that may require teams to play three matches in seven days. As a team with one of the largest fan base in the world, the happiness and fun of quite a number of people this time of year will determine on the kind of results Louis Van Gaal’s turn out in this season of happiness.
Redly United looks at what the Manchester United team can give its fans as Xmas and New Year gifts.
1. Get on another long winning streak:  United’s form of six wins in a row came to a halt with a draw against Aston Villa at Villa Park. Next up for united is a Boxing Day fixture at home to Newcastle. A win against Newcastle will be the great Xmas gift for the United fans, but winning all their matches this period will be perfect. Here’s a look of United’s fixture for this yuletide period.

Fri 26 Dec:   Manchester United Vs Newcastle (H) [Premier League]
Sun 28 Dec:  Tottenham Vs Manchester United (A) [Premier League]
Thu 1 Jan:   Stoke Vs Manchester United  (A) [Premier League]
Sun 4 Jan:   Yeovil Vs Manchester United (A) [F.A Cup – Third Round].
These games are winnable games by Manchester United’s standard and form, Wining all these game and many more will keep millions of United fans around the world happy.

2. Getting all the injured players back without new causalities:  Manchester United form and formation this season have been greatly hampered by various injuries, with statistics showing that the team have suffered up forty different injuries in the first half of this season alone. The light at the end of the tunnel for United is that all currently injured players could be back before New Year, the only player who could be back after New Year is Daley Blind. Luke Shaw and Rafael are back in training, Herrera and Marouane Fellaini should be back in the squad soon after their brief illness, Smalling and Marcos Rojo should be back after the Christmas. But one wish for United is that none of its players suffer new injury this period and if possible for the rest of the season.

3. Radamel Falcao getting the goals: If there’s one player United fans want to see more from, it has to be Falcao. Fans want to see him start games; fans want to see him bang in the goals. His performance in the game against Villa must have made a case for him, that if given more starts and support, he can form a great partnership with Van Persie. And with the rush of games this period, and his performance against Villa, it’s most likely he’ll get more starts. And goals from the Colombian striker this period would be a perfect gift from him to the fans.
