MY UNITED TEAM TO FACE NEWCASTLE: DI MARIA AND SMALLING STARTS

Manchester United will be hoping to get back to winning ways, when the team play Newcastle on Boxing Day. The only inured player that may be back in the squad according to manager Van Gaal is Chris Smalling. The team will be missing Fellaini, Herrera, Rojo, Shaw and Blind. Radamel Falcao will be hoping to continue his goal scoring form for the team after his goal against Villa, while Di Maria will be hoping for a start after his short spell on the sidelines and a substitute appearance against Villa. While the fans will want to see Carrick back in the midfield, base on their recent performance, Jonny Evans and Darren Fletcher are two players the fans won’t want to see in the starting line up. Van Gaal would want to keep it tight at the back, and here’s Redly United starting XI against Newcastle.

De Gea: he’s one of the few players in the team with a starting shirt. He’s heroics in games against Everton and other games this season have been commendable.

Valencia: he’s been consistent, in the last few weeks, though his deliveries and crosses were not top notch in the last game against Villa. Rafael is back and was on bench in the last game against Villa, but I expect Valencia to keep his place in the team.

Jones: he’s coming back strong, and gradually getting to his best. He had a decent last game, though he had one or two shaky moment. He should start in the right side of the back three.

Smalling: he’s just back from injury, though Van Gaal doesn’t usually throw players straight back into the team, with his stringent fitness requirements. Smalling case is different here, he has to start to allow Carrick move into his favourite midfield position. He was in great form before his injury, and fans would just hope he can continue in that form.

Blackett: Jonny Evans performances in his last two games have not been convincing. While Blackket may be inexperienced and young, he gets my nod for a start

Young: he’s been excellent in his new position, and against Villa, he was at his best. And with Shaw and Rojo Missing, it’s almost certain he’ll retain his starting shirt for the match.

Carrick: he’s the main man behind United change in form, and a will definitely start the game, with Herrera and Fellaini missing, He’ll be saddled with the responsibility of shielding the defence and linking the defence to attack

Rooney: United’s captain, had a silent game by his standard against Aston Villa.  Would definitely start.

Di Maria: came on as a substitute in the last match and I expect him to start the game, in place of Mata who had a quiet game against Villa

Van Persie: didn’t follow up his goal scoring form with a goal last Saturday, he’ll be hoping to get on the scoring sheet this time around.

Falcao: His goal against Villa would put him in contention for a start, and I expect the gaffer to give him a start as a follow up to his nice performance in the match against Villa.

This is my starting XI what's yours?
